I’m a legally blinded veteran who lost 96% of my visions. I’ve decided to move forward with this gofundme campaign to raise money for my prototype cleated shoe. Now it’s time to submit this to the entirety of social media platforms. Parents have had serious concerns with sports related injuries, I have spent seven years researching how to minimize lower extremity injuries.
The problem shows that 3.5 million athletes per year suffer from some type of lower extremity injury. The solution is to minimize the severity of injuries. I’m trying to avoid are the more serious injuries that require surgeries due to structural damage to the hips, knees, ankles, torn cartilage, ligaments and tendons.
This shoe was designed to provide athletes with 360° rotation on the forefoot and heel. There are three basic principles.
The first principle focuses on the biometric principles: which reduces the amount of force, friction, and drag on ligaments and tendons. Allowing the feet to remain locked into the playing surface as the upper sole rotates around the cleats. This prevents athletes from exceeding biometrics restrictions.
The second principle involves mechanical properties that facilitate movement such as rapid change of direction (RCD), opening and closing of the hips. When moving horizontally, this shoe eliminates steps when running in a horizontal direction.
The third principle enhances the probability of performance and availability by minimizing the severity of an injury.
My goal is to start at 2,200 pairs of shoes, starting at size 4 through size 15, including half sizes. It’s imperative that I get started immediately. Sports injuries are the second leading cause of emergency room visits for children and adolescents, and the second leading cause of injuries in school accounting for 3.5 million children each year.
