Butterfly Barb Needs our Help

Barb and Dick's Wildflower business was hit hard by the Covid 19 pandemic closures. Then Dick, Barb's partner for over 30 years, became gravely ill with life-or-death heart complications. Now Barb is faced with an avalanche of bills and this campaign is here to help her and the shop.

The funds we raise are desperately needed to pay the other small businesses that supplied their flowers, to pay helpers Ben and Jeff, the shop loan obligations, and utilities. In addition there are medical bills for Dick piling up day by day. Barb is feeling the weight of bills and creditors in addition to unfathomable sorrow and worry about her beloved partner. The sooner we can help, the sooner she can face these hardships without the fear of not being able to survive financially while the business goes under too.

We know Barb as a tireless champion of the Monarch. More than 22 years of volunteer effort went into Barb's Monarch plantings; defending and nurturing what is now a community treasure: The Monarch Trail. She is the founder of the Friends of the Monarch Trail who evolved into “1000” plus friends that work to defend and restore the trail.

Team Butterfly Barb is a circle of friends and family, eternally grateful for any and all contributions to help. This is a chance to give back to Barb, who inspired generations of children with the magic of Monarchs as well as a legion of habitat and butterfly defenders.
