CDC LGBTQ Staff Network for Doncaster Pride
The City of Doncaster Council LGBTQ+ Staff Network (along with some friends and family) will be running The Doncaster City 10K on 24th November 2024 to raise money for Doncaster Pride to help support them to continue the vital work that they do for LGBTQ+ people in Doncaster.
Doncaster Pride is a registered charity which exists to support, celebrate and empower the LGBTQ+ community in Doncaster. This incredible charity is vital in promoting diversity, equal rights and inclusion for all, as well as the variety of LGBTQ+ culture.
Despite significant strides toward equality, LGBTQ+ individuals still face discrimination, prejudice, and marginalization. Doncaster Pride provides a platform to amplify LGBTQ+ voices, celebrate their identities, and advocate for their rights. The fight for LGBTQ+ rights is far from over, and charities like Doncaster Pride are on the frontline of the work to achieve full acceptance and inclusion for all.
This is a special year for Doncaster Pride as our city was chosen as the host of UK Pride. This year's spectacular event at Town Fields in August was attended by over 20,000 people. Hosting UK Pride has given Doncaster an opportunity shine a light on Doncaster's beautifully diverse communities and show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
