Help Noelle pay for sexual reassignment surgery

Hi! My name is Noelle. I’m 28 years old and live in Denmark. I created this GoFundMe to pursue my dreams of getting bottom surgery.

I am transgender and have been on Hormonal Replacement Therapy for nearly 3 years. In Denmark bottom surgery is free, but a team must evaluate if they want to give it to you (and if you are accepted, there is a waiting list of 10 years). Recently I went to a consultation with the only surgeon in Denmark who does this surgery. He told me that he and I didn’t know what dysphoria even is, and I would be happier if I could just do the helicopter in front of the mirror and find peace with my genitals. After the consultation, he denied me for surgery on the basis of a depression diagnosed years prior.

It’s very important to me to get this surgery. I am aware it will not fix my depression - as the surgeon said it wouldn’t - but it would help with a majority of the gender dysphoria I am experiencing. I really want to be able to work out, go to the beach, go try dresses, go to public restrooms, without all the anxiety I have currently, and have had all of my life. My therapist encourage me and vouches for me regarding getting surgery. I believe it’s vital for my mental health, that I pursue this surgery.

I have been in contact with a hospital in Thailand with a very experienced surgeon. They can help me with the surgery. The reason I am doing this GoFundMe, is to ask you, if you could help me get this surgery. Everything is prepared - but the financial aspect. I need money for the surgery, the medication post-surgery and the recovery. I cannot express my gratitude if you are able to help.

As said, my name is Noelle. Besides being transgender, I also have other hobbies! (That was a joke). My favourite thing to do is spend time with my boyfriend. We have a long distance relationship, but see each other whenever we can. I also have a cat who demands my attention. Her name is Luca. She’s a talkative indoor cat who loves to sleep in my lap. I work at an electronic store where I help costumers with various services for their electronic devices. When I am not at work, I love to game on my computer. My friends usually describe me as sociable, loveable and pretty funny.

Fun fact about me: I used to be a firefighter in the danish governments military program. It is only very recently I stopped reacting to the sound of an alarm bell - but whenever there’s a big fire, I still make all of my friends watch the news articles.
