Battling breast cancer

My name is Rebecca Scribner. I am fundraising for my extremely strong and courageous sister. She has been battling breast cancer for 2 years now. She is my hero and the strongest person I've ever known. I was going to rewrite the information she has given me about her battle but because she is so much better with words I am going to just put here in her words her story.
Diagnosed Triple Negative Breast Cancer stage 2B in March 2022. Did 6 months of IV chemo, had double mastectomy, then did 28 treatments of radiation over 6 weeks. After surgery the pathology came back and 3 of the 5 lymphnodes they removed still had significant tumors so we added another 6 months of oral chemo to my treatment plan. Finished in July of 2023. In August had clear PET scan and one more reconstruction surgery. Another good followup and labs in November, however had started having pains in back of my shoulder. After seeing many drs and no one having any idea what my pains are from, I finally went to ER at the end of January. After CT scan and chest xrays, ER confirmed I had a plueral effusion. (fluid on lung) They admitted me to the hospital and had a thoracentsis where they drained 1.6 L of fluid. February 6th follow up with dr and fluid came back positive for cancer cells, and was officially stage 4, metestatic breast cancer. In addition the fluid had returned. It took too long to get a radiologist to get me in to drain again so I ended up back in the ER and admitted again. This time they drained 2.3L of fluid and inserted a catheter so we could drain more frequently. In addition we also had surgery to reinstall a port and had a PET scan and confirmed there is extensive growth around my right lung and then started chemo right away. Two rounds of 3 weekly IV treatments, and then 1 week off then we will do another PET scan to see if treatment is working. Meanwhile, catherter is not working and the fluid has accumulated again. when I read it all in one place I broke into tears thinking, how can anyone survive through all of this. It is a nightmare in reality. Even though my sister and I haven't always gotten along, I love her with all of my being. She has always had the courage to do everything I haven't and I have always envied her for it. She is a mother of 3, a wife, a teacher, and a business woman. And during all of this she has continued to work her business. Her Scentsy business being her only source of income, I needed to do something to help. I myself struggling in life as most do, needed to find a way to ease her financial burden. Unable to help in any other way because we live so far apart, myself in Maine and her in Florida, I decided to start this fundraiser to help take away some of that burden. I have included a couple links about her. One about her growing scentsy business that she is amazing at and another about her diagnosis journey. Please help my sister in her unbelievably difficult journey, she deserves everything and more. She's such and amazing woman and she is my hero.
Started Scentsy on 2011. Quickly grew business and was able to leave teaching to stay home with Chris in a year.. My business has always been source of money, support, personal development, inspiration, fun, and of course fragrance. Right now it is our only source of income. https://amoremagicallife.com
