Katys Fight
Donation protected
On Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016, little Kathryn (Katy) Mulligan went to the ER in Vacaville because of non-stop vomiting; and eventually she fainted, lost color, and her lips turned blue. Once at the ER, they believed that her stomach or bowels might have perforated, so she was quickly transfered to the children's hospital in Roseville, CA. She underwent surgery, where they discovered that most of her intestine was dead from kinks or blockages, most likely caused by "twisted gut." Obviously the dead portion had to be removed. Now, out of her 10 feet of small intestine She has one foot left, and out of the three feet of large intestine She has about 18 inches left. She is now on the transplant list on or near the top, and once a match is found, we will have to get Katy to either UCLA, Omaha, Nebraska, or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the procedure. Once done, she will have to stay there for about three months. Until the procedure though, Katy will have to live (get her nourishment) from a permanent IV.
