Hi, I’m Sophia Inez. I’m 21 years old. My father is only 49, and is already in critical condition due to liver cirrhosis. His liver is failing him after his life-long battle with alcoholism. I’m sure some of you will say that he got himself in this position, that this suffering is deserved. Even he has said these things. I might have years ago, but I don’t think so anymore.

 

My father has been sober since his diagnosis. My younger siblings and I have gotten to see him in a completely different light. He is intelligent, a great guitar player, a genius cook, a superb conversationalist, crudely funny, and he has some wild stories. I want to get to hear more of them. I want him to be able to tell them to my children someday.

 

Since he does not have health insurance, our only hope at saving our dad is your donations. Liver transplants are expensive, and I do not expect to reach my goal- but anything and everything is appreciated. Thank you.
