My name is Adina, and I’m raising funds to support my dear friend Sarah, a bright and determined young woman from a small fishing village in rural Ghana.

Thanks to the generosity of donors last year, Sarah successfully completed her first year in a prestigious Mining Engineering program at one of Ghana’s top universities; UMAD. She is determined to continue her studies and remain on track to become the first person in her family to earn a university degree at this level.

As a strong leader in her community, Sarah is breaking gender stereotypes and paving the way for future generations of women in STEM. However, university education in Ghana comes with significant financial pressure. Tuition fees are due shortly after acceptance each year, and for students from rural communities, covering these costs on time is extremely challenging. Sarah’s family is doing all they can, but they are unable to meet the full cost of her education on their own.

During my time in Busua, Sarah and her family showed me immense kindness and hospitality. Supporting her education is my way of giving back and standing beside her as she continues this journey.
