Hi!
I'm running my first ever half marathon on Sunday 5th October, in order to raise money for Remy’s foundation
Remy’s foundation was established in 2022 in memory of Remy Johnson, the son of close family friends Luke and Melinda. Remy tragically passed away aged 7 in the summer of 2022 after emergency open heart surgery at great ormond street hospital. Initially, the surgery seemed successful but an unexpected complication unfortunately lead to Remy’s passing.
I spent many afternoons in Remy’s company, either having a kick about, or on the sidelines at my brothers football. He had unmatched wit and charm for someone of his age, and probably a more relentless use of the words ‘fella’ and ‘geeza’ than Danny dyer.
ill be running with ‘Kitkat Joe’ on my back as that was Remy’s nickname for me, for reasons I am still unsure of to this very day
I’m proud to be running this half marathon in his memory, and all funds raised will be going to his foundation which helps with a variety of causes, including diagnosis, accommodation and equipment for Great Ormond Street hospital. Any donations will be massively massively appreciated, and anyone donating is more than welcome to join me for a post half marathon pint on the finish line.
See you on the other side!
