Charleston City Rowing Club

The Charleston City Rowing Club (CCRC) is a nonprofit organization committed to developing, teaching and advancing the sport of rowing in the Charleston area. CCRC has a direct impact on our members' love for sports, community and Charleston’s magnificent waterways.

The first junior rowing team was established in the Charleston area in 2007. Since then, the juniors have joined organizations with the adult rowing team and currently share practice facilities and a love of this sport as part of the Charleston City Rowing Club. The co-ed junior team serves 18 students from surrounding Charleston area high schools. Graduates from our program have continued rowing at University of Pennsylvania, University of Richmond, Rochester Institute of Technology, Clemson, Northwestern, NC State and Tufts. Our masters program serves men and women from ages 26 to 75 or older! One of the amazing things about rowing is that you can have such a broad span of ages rowing together in one boat. Charleston City Rowing Club is dedicated to supporting rowers of every age with the help of generous community funding!

 With your contribution, we can continue to provide the level of support our junior and master rowers need. Our current trailer is over 10 years old and is unable to travel safely on the road due to rust. Your donations will be used to purchase a new trailer, which serves as our boathouse. The trailer also transports our equipment to regattas and out of Brittlebank Park when we need to evacuate (hurricanes and special events in the park force us to move several times a year). Our goal for 2022 is to purchase a used aluminum trailer for $40,000 that will not rust in the salt air. Thank you for contributing to this very worthy cause!
