Chris’s Recovery
Hi, my name is Morgan Butterbredt. My Bonus Dad, Chris Knopf, was involved in a shooting on 01/29 at the Lone Oak Lounge. He suffered a gunshot wound that shattered his humerus and caused some nerve damage. He will be having surgery to put a metal plate in his arm on 02/16, and will do a nerve conduction test about two weeks after that. The orthopedic doctor said the bone should heal and is hoping Chris won't need further surgery, but we aren't sure the extent of the nerve damage. At this point, best case scenario, Chris will be off work 4-6 months. And if the nerves don't heal properly he won't be able to return to his job as a tower crane operator at all.
We all love and admire him for his willingness to take a bullet for anyone in the bar that night. He will be applying for disability, but anyone who knows Chris knows he’s basically a workaholic and has come to rely on his overtime. With this loss of income, and possible future income, our family would be so grateful if you feel inclined to help financially with any bills while Chris recovers from this tragic event. We are so thankful for the overwhelming support, prayers, and meals from everyone. It means the world to us♥️
