The trip will be from August 15-22. I'm excited to serve along side people that have invested their lives to serve Bogota's marginalized with special care for the Embera-Chami community. We will partner with and serve at Bogota Kids Mission, Bogota Home for Unwed Teenage Mothers, as well as construction and development of land outside of Bogota to create an retreat center for children affected by poverty and gang violence.
"So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth."
I know we are just willing hands to serve but I trust that God will use our team's service and efforts to His glory.
Would you partner with me?
Below I have some information on our hosts and organizers.
Stan and Debra Owens settled in Bogota, Colombia 9 years ago after working with indigenous people groups in Brazil and Aruba for 17 years. Concentrating their efforts on the Embera-Chami people, they work closely with Bogota Kid’s Mission, a refugee center, to provide one-on-one assistance to families.
In partnership with Bogota Kid’s Mission, Stan and Debra work to develop a few acres of land outside of the city to create a campground for city children who often are forced to live around the violence, noise and pollution of the city; a place where children can be children. They also serve along side the Bogota Home For Unwed Teenage Mothers in order to serve the young mothers who have often been abandoned and left to fend for themselves.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
