Marc needs your help #leukemia #curecancer

Hi, my name is Jodi Garfinkle, I am raising funds for my husband, Marc Stein who was just diagnosed with LGL Leukemia. Marc is an awesome, hardworking husband and an amazing dad to our 3 furry children: Lexie, Felix & Oscar. Marc is not the type to ask for help, but I have no choice to ask to ease the stress put upon Marc & I during this time. 

LGL leukemia is not curable, but it may be able to be treated. This type of Leukemia is very rare, only 1000 people a year get diagnosed. This is not our first time dealing with Marc having cancer. He lost his bladder to cancer in 2016. We remained positive back then and we're trying to remain positive again. Over the past 9 years marc has undergone 8 major surgeries, 3 heart attacks and also beat his previous cancer. He has been through so much and continues to push himself as hard as he can to get to work and carry on.  

Marc stepped up at 15 years old when his family needed extra money and began working to help out, he has not stopped working since (he is 60 now). All his hard work instilled an incredible work ethic in him, he never misses work unless he absolutely has to. Marc has good insurance but insurance does not pay for his time missed from work or medical supplies and extra things we need to keep him as healthy as he can be. Our hopes are that this is slow progressing and that with chemo and different treatments along the way (lifelong) that we can prolong his quality of life and keep him with us as long as possible.

Marc is the main earner in the family, there will be days, weeks and possibly months through chemo and different treatments that he will not be able to work. Bone marrow transplants are on the list of treatments. There will also be hospital stays we have to consider because his immune system is so low, he can get infections very easily. All money donated will go towards rent, bills, groceries, any medical needs Marc has that are not covered by his insurance and basic needs as well.

I am on disability myself and will do my best to take care of Marc on days he is unable to care for himself. I am not able to work because of my own medical issues, but I will try to start to work again when I am feeling stronger.
