As some of you may know, my sister Vanessa was recently diagnosed at 36 years old with invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. Our family is still processing this news, and while she is staying strong, the road ahead includes treatments, appointments, and medical bills that are already becoming overwhelming. She has already undergone mastectomy surgery, but this is only the beginning of her medical journey. Vanessa still needs additional follow-up treatments, and ongoing care to give her the best chance at recovery.

One of the biggest needs we're facing right now is a specialized machine that will help her manage the severe side effects of chemotherapy. This device is called a cold cap and will help prevent complete hair loss, which is an unfortunate result of chemotherapy. This is not covered by insurance and comes with a significant cost, but it can greatly improve her comfort, emotional well-being and quality of life throughout treatment.
