Clydach Cricket Club was established in 1892 and we are ECB Accredited Club located near Swansea. Our club is based in the village of Clydach (SA6 5JZ) in the lower Swansea Valley that serves Clydach and the surrounding community with high quality opportunities to play or watch sport and provide social opportunities for all, irrespective of gender, age, ethnicity or disability and also provides an environment that welcomes the young and old and visitors alike and support Clydach community council for events such as Fireworks evening, Village fete and the charity bike ride. Thereby ensuring that the clubhouse continues to be an integral part of the local community and as such it will contribute an invaluable service to all sections of the community especially schools, youth organisations and businesses.
Over 120 young players both boys & girls enjoy playing cricket and football in a very safe environment over the summer and winter months and have refreshments in the club. Many parents come to watch their children practising, playing & also attend to support the senior teams. We have a mother and toddler group, Darts teams and fishing organisation that use the club and the local community also sees the benefit of youngsters not hanging around on street corners as they are welcomed and treated like young adults in a controlled club environment.
Due to COVID-19 the football season was cut short and the cricket season has been temporarily suspended and unlikely to commence. We run four senior cricket teams and six junior teams. As you can imagine the loss of cricket and being forced to close our doors through the summer months has been significant to the club’s finances. As a result we are beginning this fund-raising campaign to ensure that the club can continue to be a vital part of the Clydach community for months and years to come. The fundraising effort will see players, members and supporters of the club cycle, walk or run a total of 1892km (the year the club was founded) on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July.

Separately we are offering an advertising opportunity for businesses whereby company details and logo will be included in every 1st XI match programme during the 2021 season for a minimum donation of £25. Please contact Nicky Fisher on 07718702114 for further information.
