Hi, my name is Alicia and I am fundraising for Dante.

In July of 2021, shortly after his first birthday on the 4th, Dante began to walk. He was an active, happy, beautiful little boy. On July 12th his mom took him to Children's Hospital with a high fever. After being sent home with what was thought to be a bad cold, she returned the next day with him limp in her arms, clinging to life. A parent's absolute worst nightmare.

The diagnosis was Parainfluenza that led to bacterial pneumonia. With his little body unable to fight the infection, later that week Dante went into Septic shock which led to necrosis of his extremities. He was put into a medically induced coma for almost a month. On August 11th, because of the necrosis, they had to amputate both of Dante's

hands, his left foot and part of his right leg.

Dante faces a long road of rehabilitation and recovery. As a quadruple amputee, Dante and his family of four face an uncertain financial future.

Lana, his mom, slept by his side at the hospital and the rehabilitation center every night. They were finally able to return home November 9th to his father and three year old sister, Serena. His mother has and will not be able to return to work for an unknown period of time as Dante learns to walk, use his prosthetics, and adjust to his new life.

He is a beautiful, active and happy boy with a bright future. Let’s help him so he can do and be anything he wants to be.

I have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the financial burden on Dante's parents. The next days, weeks, months and years will be a struggle as they adapt to their new reality. They will need to make their home ADA compliant, have countless doctor appointments, and replace Dante’s prosthetic as he grows. As you can imagine the normal costs of every day living — such as rent, food, clothing, plus the medical costs will be astronomical.

This fundraiser will enable Dante's parents to concentrate on Dante and their family.
