Service Dog for Jude

Donation protected
Jude is very sweet and affectionate, a sponge for knowledge, and a sensory seeker. We are aware that as far as the autism spectrum goes, we are pretty lucky.

Until he was two he never acknowledged me, and I feared the worst. But after years of therapy and a good support system, Jude is social in his own way. Words cannot describe what it is like for your child to hug you or kiss you for the first time. I am eternally grateful, that I can speak to my son, and he can understand what I say.

We still have a lot of work ahead of us. Jude is nonverbal, and communicates via PECS. (He shows us pictures of what he wants.)

One of the hardest parts of teaching Jude is that he cannot sit still, and he cannot hold attention for more than ten seconds. Which, as you can imagine, makes him problematic in his classroom.

Also, Jude is getting big. And it is very difficult for me to get him from A to B. The fact that it is difficult makes him miss out on a lot of activities.

We want to get him a Rifton Chair to assist in his education and transportation.

His therapists use one of these chairs to work with him but we want to extend these sessions to our home!

Any help is appreciated!
