We have seen marginalized groups in our community of New York City particularly hard hit by the pandemic. Art Start is an organization using the creative process to nurture the 114,000 homeless children and teens who face the daily uncertainties and instabilities of living in New York City’s shelters.
Art Start believes that each individual has an autonomous and creative spirit which is inherently healing and liberating. Liberation is to re-imagine who one is and who one will become beyond present circumstances.
