My name is Karen Cuaresma, I’m 43 years old, and for the past eight years, I’ve been battling stage 4 cancer.

It started with something that seemed small—a red, swollen area on the roof of my mouth. I thought it was nothing. But a few months later, I found a lump in my neck. It kept growing. After a biopsy, I got the news that changed my life forever: stage 4 cancer.

Since then, it’s been a long, painful journey—one that sadly isn't over. The cancer spread from my neck to my brain, leading to two surgeries. A year later, two more brain tumors appeared. I had another operation, and that’s when doctors also found a tumor in my pelvis—yet another surgery.

Now, three more tumors have appeared in my brain, and they can’t be removed. I’m undergoing chemotherapy with the hope of slowing down the disease. But my doctors have told me that my options are limited.

Despite everything, I haven’t given up.

I hold on to my faith, to hope, and to the belief that there are still brighter days ahead. I’m sharing my story here because I need your help—whether it's a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this campaign. Every act of support brings light into this incredibly difficult time.

Hola, me llamo Karen Cuaresma. Tengo 43 años y estoy en la lucha de mi vida: un cáncer en etapa 4. 

 Todo comenzó hace ocho años con algo que parecía inofensivo: el paladar se me enrojeció e hinchó. Pensé que se me pasaría. Pero meses después, me encontré un bulto en el cuello. Siguió creciendo. Una biopsia reveló lo que nadie quiere oír: cáncer. Etapa 4. 

 Ese momento lo cambió todo. Desde entonces, mi camino ha estado lleno de dolor, cirugías e innumerables visitas al hospital. El cáncer se extendió desde el cuello hasta el cerebro. Me he sometido a múltiples cirugías cerebrales. Justo cuando pensaba que lo peor había pasado, aparecieron más tumores: dos más en el cerebro y uno en la pelvis. Otra cirugía. Otra batalla. 

Ahora tengo tres nuevos tumores cerebrales. No se pueden extirpar. Actualmente estoy en quimioterapia, aferrándome a la esperanza de que detenga el avance del cáncer. Mis médicos me han dicho que la situación es extremadamente difícil, que quizá no queden muchas opciones. Pero me niego a rendirme. Me aferro firmemente a mi fe, a mi esperanza y al amor de quienes creen en mí. No importa cuán oscuros se pongan los días, no me desanimaré. Esto es solo una parte de mi historia, pero no termina aquí.
