My fight against cancer
Donation protected
I was recently diagnosed with stage 3 anorectal cancer on December 26th, 2021. Radiation began February 14th, 2022 and chemo February 28th. I was working a travel nurse assignment in Pensacola Florida when I read the results of the biopsy online. I cried the entire 6 hour drive home. Mostly because I found the tumor back in November of 2020, had multiple imaging and procedures , yet no biopsy was done of the tumor……..and it kept growing as they claimed it was a fistula. (Long story )
I have been incredibly fatigued, nauseous, and in pain from the chemo and radiation (as well as the anal tumor). I was also recently hospitalized for severe radiation burns to my perianal area. Not a fun place to have a burn! The raw skin is starting to scab over so I was able to get chemo today. I have 7 more rounds of chemo after this every other week. I can then schedule my colostomy to be reversed and the doctors will monitor from there.
I have a long journey ahead, but I am going to courageously fight and beat this disease. Praying for strength, peace, wisdom, and guidance throughout the process. I will try to find a blog to keep you all updated if you are interested.
Medical expenses are heavy so any and all support will help ❤️
Thank you and God Bless.
