Yosmary's medical bills

It saddens me beyond my wildest thoughts that I find my self typing these words. On January 26th, 2022 I got a call at work from my wife Yosmary but the person on the other end was not my wife. It was a good samaritan t calling to tell me that my wife was struck by a bullet actually struck in the face! I instantly imagined the worse, she was dead or would die. I know that she had just left work and was on her way home. I ran out of work yelling at my co-workers that wife had been shot! In full panic mode I sped to where he told me she was only to get there and find that she was being rushed to the hospital. Oh my God what was happening? Why my beautiful wife.

 

 

I met Yosmary 4 years ago when she came to the cycling training center where I was working. She was there to find a place for her son to train for his Triathlon racing while they were her visiting her friend. She had come from Venezuela via Cancun where her older son lives. She was planning on returning to Mexico but falling in love changed those plans. Yosmary is an amazing woman, wife, mother and teacher who 6 years ago fled the violence and instability of Venezuela and went to Cancun Mexico to be with her older son. She decided to come visit a friend here in the Wisconsin where we met and married after two years of being together most every day. No one ever thinks this will happen to them much less know of someone that this will happen to and here I am living it. Yosmary is a wonderful wife. She has raised her two sons pretty much on her own sacrificing herself for them. She is a highly accredited early childhood educator who is committed to making the lives of the young children she touches an exceptional experience. She volunteers her time working with the Sixteenth Street Clinic in their health and wellness programs as an exercise instructor sharing her energy and excitement for exercise and healthy living. She would do anything to help you if you needed it. She posses a can do attitude like no other and a drive and determination that is admirable.

 

 

While we do have insurance it has been quickly exhausted. Our deductible has consumed our saving that we had for a down payment on a new home. Because Yosmary had just started her employment at MPS there is no family medical leave available. We only have my income to live off of and try to pay these medical bills. We often times here about medical expenses financially wrecking a family and I am afraid that may be us without help. While I really am not good at asking for help I am reaching out and humbling asking for your help under these devastating circumstances. Whatever donation amount that you can help with will be appreciated very very much. I hope and pray that no one will have to go through what we are experiencing.

Me entristece más allá de mis pensamientos más salvajes que me encuentro escribiendo estas palabras. El 26 de enero de 2022 recibí una llamada en el trabajo de mi esposa Yosmary, pero la persona al otro lado del teléfono no era mi esposa. ¡Fue un buen samaritano que me llamó para decirme que mi esposa recibió un balazo en la cara! Inmediatamente me imaginé lo peor, estaba muerta o moriría. Sé que acababa de salir del trabajo y se dirigía a su casa. ¡Me quedé sin trabajo gritando a mis compañeros de trabajo que le habían disparado a mi esposa! En pleno modo de pánico, aceleré hacia donde me dijo que estaba solo para llegar allí y descubrir que la estaban llevando de urgencia al hospital. Oh, Dios mío, ¿qué estaba pasando? ¿Por qué mi bella esposa.

Conocí a Yosmary hace 4 años cuando vino al centro de entrenamiento de ciclismo donde yo trabajaba. Ella estaba allí para encontrar un lugar para que su hijo entrenara para su carrera de triatlón mientras visitaba a su amiga. Ella había venido de Venezuela vía Cancún, donde vive su hijo mayor. Ella planeaba regresar a México pero enamorarse cambió esos planes. Yosmary es una mujer increíble, esposa, madre y maestra que hace 6 años huyó de la violencia e inestabilidad de Venezuela y se fue a Cancún México para estar con su hijo mayor. Decidió venir a visitar a una amiga aquí en Wisconsin, donde nos conocimos y nos casamos después de dos años de estar juntos casi todos los días. Nunca nadie piensa que esto le va a pasar y mucho menos sabe de alguien a quien le va a pasar esto y aquí lo estoy viviendo. Yosmary es una esposa maravillosa. Ha criado a sus dos hijos prácticamente sola, sacrificándose por ellos. Es una educadora de la primera infancia altamente acreditada que está comprometida a hacer que la vida de los niños pequeños que toca sea una experiencia excepcional. Ella ofrece su tiempo como voluntaria trabajando con Sixteenth Street Clinic en sus programas de salud y bienestar como instructora de ejercicios, compartiendo su energía y entusiasmo por el ejercicio y la vida saludable. Ella haría cualquier cosa para ayudarte si lo necesitabas. Posee una actitud positiva como ninguna otra y un impulso y una determinación admirables.

Si bien tenemos seguro, se ha agotado rápidamente. Nuestro deducible ha consumido nuestro ahorro que teníamos para el pago inicial de una nueva casa. Debido a que Yosmary acababa de comenzar su empleo en MPS, no hay licencia médica familiar disponible ni ingresos porque . Muchas veces aquí, los gastos médicos arruinan financieramente a una familia y me temo que podemos ser nosotros sin ayuda. Si bien realmente no soy bueno para pedir ayuda, me acerco y me siento humilde al pedirla en estos tiempos aleccionadores. Cualquier cantidad de donación con la que pueda ayudar será muy apreciada. Espero y rezo para que nadie tenga que pasar por lo que estamos viviendo.
