Cayla, Joe, and Baby Leo

My name is Tara, and I’m very excited to become an aunt! My sister Cayla is 22 weeks pregnant with a precious little boy named Leo. We were saddened to hear that on his 20 week routine anatomy scan, he was found to have a Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation (CPAM). In simple terms, Leo has a mass in his lung. Although it is considered benign, it is significant enough to be pushing on his heart. Cayla, and her husband, Joe, live in a remote area and have been advised by her physicians to seek treatment at Childrens Hospital of Cincinnati. This hospital has a highly acclaimed team of doctors that are trained to care for kiddos with Leo’s rare situation. Unfortunately, the ultrasounds have shown that the mass has continued to grow. The doctors are recommending that Cayla have in depth ultrasounds twice a week in Cincinnati. This is a 400 mile round trip for them each visit. That being said, I’m asking for help. Whether it be financially for gas, food, medical bills or prayers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Specific prayer requests for little Leo (and mom and dad) include:

⁃ That Leo’s lung mass will plateau on the next ultrasound and start to shrink.

⁃ That Leo’s heart remains protected from any strain.

⁃ That the doctors be filled with knowledge and discernment as they make a game plan pending each scan.

⁃ That Cayla and Joe be filled with a peace through all of this that only Jesus can give.

Disclaimer: some of you are aware of my little Theo’s story. He was also born with a congenital defect. Although the defects are different, Theo’s and Leo’s diagnosis’ are not hereditary nor genetic. To say this all has been a complete and total shock is an understatement. But God. We are trusting that God will provide, down to the smallest details.
