Hello my prayer warriors, loved ones, family, and friends. My name is Krista and I'm fundraising for my nephew Cayden and family. Monday March 4th my brother David and sister in law Lindsey brought their son into Children's hospital in Omaha for open heart surgery to repair and replace the two main valves in his heart. After 5 hours in surgery on a bypass machine they closed him up and he was set to recover in their cardiac ICU unit. Unfortunately in the first few hours after surgery they found his heart wasn't squeezing correctly in one ventricle so they took him back in for a second surgery. This one lasted another 4 hours and by 2am they were closing him up for a second time.

As you can imagine, the expense of these surgeries is immense even with insurance. And with the second surgery the recovery will be longer and has thrown many unexpected expenses their way. Among other things there is their lost wages and extended hospital stay and extended recovery time.

Cayden is a sweet, smart, fun loving,hard working and very brave kid and we pray with expectation that he will not only recover fully but will be able to know a life with a fully functioning heart for the first time in his life
