Help Cayden Beat Cancer!
Donation protected
This fundraiser is for my 6-year-old fun-loving nephew, Cayden, who was recently diagnosed with everyone's nightmare, cancer.
On March 23, 2020, our worlds were turned upside down. Cayden was on his way to a doctor's appointment when he had to be rushed to the Emergency Room. After arriving at the Emergency Room, and having several tests done, they determined that he had a large tumor on his liver. The tumor was two times the size of his liver, and was pushing onto his other organs causing him to have trouble breathing and an elevated heart rate. Once he became stable enough, he underwent a biopsy to determine what the tumor was. That was it. The worst news anyone wants to hear. Cancer. Hepatoblastoma, which is a very rare liver cancer, affecting only 2 to 3 people in 1 MILLION. Why Cayden?!
Once the diagnosis of cancer was made, they placed a venous access port, and started chemotherapy treatments right away. They wanted to start the chemo treatments in an attempt to shrink the size of the tumor. Cayden has been undergoing chemo treatments almost weekly. There have been a lot of bad days, and some good days, but we all try to remain optimistic through it all.
Cayden and his parents are expected to drive 3 hours to visit with Transplant Specialists in Miami next week as they say that Cayden will need a liver transplant. There will be numerous trips to and from Miami, and overnight stays in hotels in the upcoming months. Then after the transplant, he will need to continue chemo for some time.
This fundraiser has been established to help ease the burden on Cayden's parents so that they can focus their efforts on Cayden's treatment, healing, and spending time together. All donations are greatly appreciated and will help alleviate any financial burdens (medical expenses, travel, food, hotels, and lost income) his loving parents have incurred and will continue to incur during this devastating time. If you are unable to donate, please continue to share his story.
This is going to be a long road to recovery for Cayden as he fights for his life but he is STRONG and will BEAT CANCER!!
