Cheering for Cayden
Cayden was born a beautiful, observant, smiling, laughing little boy and brought us all joy and wonder over the last year & a half. A little baby boy who loves music, his mama's singing, and great snuggles. It has been a journey of Cayden's strength since he was born. Strength of an innocent little baby, strength of his parents, strength of the village of love around him. As he began to grow in stride and so quickly right before our eyes, what started as a diagnoses of torticollis, a simple physical issue that would be fixed with a bit of physical therapy. As a few months past, Cayden's success began to decline and the usual skills, abilities, and milestones slowly were missed. As any great Mother would, Crystal, was Cayden's voice, his advocate, his power, persistence and courage. Crystal and Christian fought for their son. Together, many different doctors, many appointments, many calls and follow-up, to be given news that no one could begin to comprehend. At Lurie's Children's Hospital they were provided an answer that gives so many more questions. Cayden was diagnoses with a rare form of Leukodystrophy, a fatal degenerative disease of the brain.
At this time, we are trying to give any support we can. Help this amazing family in absolutely every way possible. There is a long road ahead. Life is not fair, life can sometimes not be kind, but to witness the strength and courage this family has, is beautiful. I am Cheering, Supporting, Praying, Loving this little baby boy, we all are. Cayden deserves the best qualify of life, each day. We are surrounded by a village and community who can help in little ways clearing the smaller worries of life, so Crystal and Christian can focus and support Cayden in each way he needs. We Love you Cayden Cruz Jimenez.
