Cayce's Last Semester at ETSU
Hello everybody. My name is Cayce Herron and I am a currently a senior at ETSU, majoring in Bluegrass, Oldtime and Country Music studies and minoring in Appalachian studies. I should have graduated in May, but due to circumstances beyond my control I am having to go an extra semester. This isn't due to me failing my classes (my GPA is 3.46), it was just a fluke thing that could have happened to anybody. My adviser overlooked a class that I had to take to complete my major, so I was one class short of graduating. Once you go to school for longer than eight semesters, you automatically lose most of your scholarships, in my case I lost all but one of them, but I thought that between scholarships and student loans I would be able to cover the costs. However, I found out two days ago that if I were to except the scholarship and loan that I was qualified for this semester I would still need several thousand dollars just to go to school, not including books. I don't like to ask for help with these kind of things, but any help I could get would be greatly appreciated. This is the difference between graduating and not graduating for me. Thanks for the consideration and God bless.
