After a lengthy hiatus and some adventures, I decided to take a leap of faith and go back to school to study voice again. By the end of my first year back, I was lucky enough to be cast in La Musica Lirica's summer performance of Poulenc's opera, Dialogue of the Carmelites as Sister Blanche in Novafeltria, Italy.
I could not be more thrilled at the prospect of studying and performing an entire operatic role under the baton of an Italian conductor and to coach this opera with native Italian speakers.
The program lasts five weeks and consists of biweekly voice lessons and vocal coaching along with daily Italian language classes, as well as staging and of course, performing in the opera. To have this international experience and to add a lead role to my resume would be enormously helpful for my training and career. I mean, look at this place!
The only problem with this great news is that traveling and paying for this adventure is expensive and as a student, my funds are already tight. (This is where you all come in.) In order to travel and pay for expenses, including tuition, I need some serious help! I will be leaving in the beginning of June so I am hoping to raise some money as soon as possible!
I would be so grateful if you all could support me in this opportunity in any way, whether that be monitarily or by sharing this with those who may be able to help. Thanks, friends!!
