On March 29, Kerron was diagnosed with Cavernous Hemangioma of the Spine.  This disease has caused multiple tumors to develop on her skeletal structure, impinging the spinal cord resulting in the paralysis of her lower body.  Kerron is a devoted Mom, a loving daughter, and a mischievous and fun-loving sister, and a cool Auntie to her many nieces and nephews.

In early 2018, Kerron started experiencing back pain.  The pain became unbearable and in June, she collapsed at school, suddenly unable to move her lower limbs.  Her condition deteriorated quickly and by August she was paralyzed from the waist down.  From May 2018 to March 2019, Kerron sought the help of experts in the field in her native Jamaica.  After numerous tests, she was finally diagnosed with Cavernous Hemangioma.   Unfortunately, this is an extremely rare condition, not only in Jamaica but worldwide.  Kerron has found a doctor and hospital in the U.S. that can help, but thetreatment is very expensive and though she has medical insurance, it will only cover a minimal amount of the cost.  Therefore, the vast amount of her treatment and care will have to be paid out-of-pocket.  We are launching this GoFundMe in an effort to help offset some of the costs for treatment.

Kerron is determined to beat this disease and regain her life and her independence and we want to help her to do that.  She is truly a happy and gracious soul and she continues to be an inspiration to all the lives she has touched as a mother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher to her countless students.  Fighting this battle is going to difficult, but despite the challenges, Kerron is a fighter and we want to give her all the support she needs to persevere.  She continues to celebrate life and is committed to doing everything within her power to beat this disease.

Please help Kerron to continue her fight against progression of the paralysis and to continue to be there for her son and family.  No amount is too small.  We only ask that you give from your heart.  Our heartfelt gratitude for your contribution.
