My name is Emily Cook, and I am a 12-year-old Guide member with the

1st Didsbury Guides. I have been selected with eighteen other Guides from

the region to represent Girlguiding North West England on a trip to

Croatia to work with the Marítimo recycling project to learn more about

managing waste and promoting sustainability.

To help fund our trip, I am organizing litterpicks around Cavendish Park, Lapwing Lane and Burton Road, including the alley by the tramstop. This area can get

quite messy during the hot weather, and I am committed to making it

cleaner and more enjoyable for everyone. By improving our local

environment, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of waste

management and sustainability.

The litterpicking will take place from 14th of May and continue on a regular basis until the end of June.

We have extended this until the 24th July.
