Cave Kindred- Human Healing via Sound Transmuting

My name is Casey Young. On May 6th, 2023, I received the dreaded phone call from my closest friend Mike. Our mutual closest friend since childhood and kindred spirit, Jake Sharp, had taken his own life. Jake, Mike and I have always shared a unique trio style friendship & very tight brotherhood. The grief that came with this news was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Life would never again be the same. I wasn't alone in this feeling of devastation. It was felt by so many; his wife, his 5 sons, his family, Mike, and by the countless people who had felt a closeness with Jake. Jake had a very special gift of breaking down all boundaries, especially those that often exist between people. Jake could & would instantly connect with anyone and quickly turn a stranger into a close friend.

In the coming days, as I started my lifelong journey of healing the immensity of this loss, I felt absolutely saved by the music that exists in my life. I felt saved by the kindred spirits around me, many of which were actively playing with me the music that was slowly bringing me to a feeling of peace. I could feel the spirit of Jake in all the music. I was witness to the egoless channeling of this healing music that has been creating a sense of awe to the kindred spirits involved in the creation of it. It has felt as if the music is coming through us, rather than from us.

I am one member in a musical collaboration we've named "Cave Kindred''. The song, "We are not alone", was written (channeled) with the sole purpose & intention of bringing some semblance of peace to Jakes closest family, who were finding it impossible to escape the grief and torment. Peace seemed so far away to some. Through connection, channeling & sharing of this music, the miracle of glimpses into peace became actual reality. Glimpses then turned into moments that turned into minutes that can eventually be transmuted into a regaining of peace and calm within circumstances that have felt unbearable at times. The music that is coming through us has definitely caught the attention of our hearts and spirits. It is coming through so fast, sometimes it feels hard to keep up. This is a very good problem to have:)

"We are not alone". Through this music and kindred spirit connecting, I've felt this transmuting of suffering into something with some light; peace, calm, learning, sentimentality, love, etc........ This could not have been done alone. It takes a community of humans. It takes those in the spirit world. It takes our ancestors who have already lived the lessons of this human existence. It takes family. It takes kindred spirits. For me, it certainly takes music.

Our musical collaboration "Cave Kindred" has been inspired to make available to the greater world this song, "We are not alone", along with a collection of other channeled songs. The intention of this particular collection of music is to help offer one more tool in the path to transmuting suffering into peace, light and lessons.

This story has been so moving to so many, that "Cave Kindred" would also like to video document the recording process, highlighting the beautiful locations used in the music channeling. We would like to tell this story as a beacon of hope for those suffering in deep grief and struggles of this human existence.
