Help Lexi knock out CRMO
Donation protected
Hello I am Lexi Newcombs' Aunt, Kristy, and I am raising money to help my brother with the financial stresses he and his wife are experiencing with Lexi's CRMO. My brother Jamie whom has been in the National Guard for 15 years and served 4 tours, has always done what was necessary for him to provide for his very caring and patient wife, Patti and 3 beautiful children. The past year my niece whom is now 10 years old has been suffering from Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis. CRMO is an autoinflammatory disease that effects the bones... This disease is rare, and often affects children, more commonly girls than boys. Lexi went from being a tom boy, playing with her two younger brothers, Braedyn 9 and Jayse 4, and loving baseball to hardly being able to walk and now wearing a knee brace with a ton of limitations on her daily activities. Numerous trips to the family doctor, then the specialists, then different childrens hospitals, till they actually found out what was causing Lexi to limp and the chronic pain in her knee. During all of these visits she has had surgery on her femur, bloodwork, and numerus tests. Now she is in need of radiation and another knee brace. My brother and his wife have missed so much work with no more sick time or vacation to take, leaves bills unpaid and the medical bills keep flowing in. Lexi's insurance has not covered near as much as it should of considering what all my brother has done for our country and his family. The trips to CHOP and then back to Strong Memorial, to the nightly stays at the hospital and making arrangements for Braedyn and Jayse. My brother and his wife have never asked for anything and always seemed to make ends meet. They both are hard working and very good parents. One word I would use to describe them is devoted. The reason why I am trying to raise money for Lexi is because she deserves the best care and with the least amount on her mind. She knows the amount of stress it is causing her father and mother. Those kids have been through enough with my brother being deployed so many times. She is the oldest and she tries so hard to act like she is ok and her mother has expressed how she can tell that Lexi is not ok with all of this. Lexi has radiation treatment that she needs. My brother, Jamie and his wife, Patti will do whatever it takes however, I just know it is taking a piece of Lexi everytime she knows they go without due to her CRMO.
