Hi, I am Hannah Aguinis, and I am running this fundraiser to support the many feral cats in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and all of Israel.
When I was visiting Israel with my family, I noticed all of the sick and homeless cats on the streets. I love both Israel and cats, so that inspired me to help the cats of Israel! That's why I chose this cause for my Bat Mitzvah project.
The feral cat problem in Israel is growing faster by the day. Before Israel was a country, the British imported the cats to control the rodents, but the numbers have gone out of control! To control these numbers, people would poison them. Only a few of these feral cats are provided with adequate food or water. They search through trash cans and try to keep themselves from starvation, at least for that night. During the summer months in Israel, the temperature can exceed more than 100 degrees fahrenheit which leads to their dehydration. Also, since they don't have owners, whatever disease or wound they get, will most likely be fatal.
The website that we are supporting with this donation is the Let the Animals Live Organization. They save feral cats of Israel in many different ways. They spay and neuter the cats to prevent overpopulation. This organization also provides shelter for the homeless cats, and gives them food, water, and medical care. By supporting Let the Animals Live, you can help them work towards the resolution of this cat situation.
