Cats On The Grove

Cats on The Grove is a group of 13 Volunteers who feed 65 feral cats a day. The Volunteers feed and care for the cats out of their own pockets. Each Volunteer may purchase over $100.00 in cat food a week. It is very difficult to tell a person who wants to be a Volunteer that, they could be paying up to $100.00 a week out of pocket for food.

About 14 years ago the Cats on the Spring Grove Hospital Campus became part of Baltimore County's TNR Program (Trap, Neuter, and Return) At that time there were about 150 cats on the hospital grounds. Now over the years with the dedication of the Volunteers trapping and, Baltimore County,s TNR Program, The cat numbers have come down to 65. The cat number may also grow, due to people dropping off unwanted pets. This is truly a sad situation for us.  We are raising money to pay for Cat Food and the fees of becoming a nonprofit foundation. Money raised will also go towards advertising, The Cats On The Groves campaign. The campaign is to raise community awareness of The Cats On The Grove and the Dedication of the Volunteers, The campaign will be asking the community for help and donations. Becoming a Nonprofit may allow us to apply for grants and donations from Corporations.   We are hopeful of looking towards a future when the Hardship of the Cost of Food and Medicine is taken away from the Volunteers.
