Repair Fund For The Catina Renea
Donation protected
In the early morning of July 26th, an electrical fire severely damaged the Catina Renea, a local, iconic shrimp boat captained by Skip Toomer and his crew. Skip and The Catina Renea have been fixtures on Hilton Head Island for over 13 years. He and Lucius Riley provide our community with an endless bounty of fresh, local shrimp. Visitors from around the country recognize the Catina Renea from their visits to the decks of Hudson's Seafood restaurant where she docks to unload her harvest. A faulty battery sparked the fire that brought the boat and crew to near disaster. The crew is currently idle and donating their hours to help restore the ship they call their second home - their wages and repair costs are not covered by this uninsured fire. The local restaurants have kept them fed as they work, but food doesn't pay their bills. Please help us with our goal by supporting the men who have made so many cultural contributions to our coastal community.
