Dear, Friends!
My name is Cathy Trinh. I’m 40 years old and I’m a single mom of a 9 year old boy. Four weeks ago I went to the hospital and had a 5-hour ER visit because of some throat and shoulder pain. After multiple doctors visits, biopsies, and CT scan I am now officially diagnosed with Stage 2 Cancer with Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma - Cancer of the Thyroid. I’m at a high risk of losing my voice and my right jugular vein, as the cancer is sitting on my vocal nerve and vein. I have surgery set for July 6th to completely remove my thyroid and radiation therapy, thereafter.
I’m an executive recruiter and the possibility of not having a voice makes me sad, however this life-changing and enlightening experience has allowed me to take a deeper look into my life and see what is most important. Family, friends, loved ones and your health.<3
This message is sent with love, as I want to spread the message for cancer awareness. If you’re ever not feeling well, please go get checked-up. Even if it’s just simple shoulder pain. Your life and your loved ones depends on it. If you cannot donate at this time, not to worry. I’m very grateful that you took the time to hear my story. I’m reaching out to my community for some assistance with medical expenses, down time from work, special diets to help shrink any remnants of tumors after my thyroid has been removed. This life-changing experience may set me back a few months from work, but it won't stop me from helping and healing others. Please take care of yourself, your health and family. I want you all to know that whatever life gives you, whatever speed bump you hit, just stay positive and having faith will keep you moving forward.
I would love to hear from you, so feel free to drop me a line!
I’m still in great spirits and not in any pain right now, but I know there will be some times I won’t be myself on the phone! :-)
Looking forward to hearing from you. Please pass this along to your friends to support cancer awareness. #cancerawareness #livingwithcancer
