Dear friends and family,

This is Alvaro Batista, Cathy's cousin. Cathy was like my sister and I loved her deeply.

As some of you know, Cathy battled cancer for the past 5 years. On July 3rd, Cathy transitioned to a better place. She was a true warrior, an amazing mother, a loving wife, daughter, auntie, cousin and friend.

For 27 years, together with Luis Felipe, they built a wonderful life, full of love with their two young boys, Paolo (11) and Gianluca (9). To those of us who were lucky to know her, Cathy represented a bright light. Cathy was a beautiful, smart, caring woman who lived life to the fullest, loved deeply and enjoyed life living by her own rules. She was a warm and a very thoughtful person with a bright smile. She loved to hike, travel, photography, cats, turtles, hummingbirds, silver jewelry, the beach, and scarves. She really loved the color orange and doing brunch.

We've received several inquiries about sending flowers to the family. Instead of flowers, Cathy would want to support two organizations that were important to her.

We have started this GoFundme to honor her legacy and facilitate donations in her name to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital and the Cancer Society.
