Cathy Turner Wheelchair Van Fund
Donation protected
Cathy’s diagnosis of MS was in May 2007, since that time she has progressed rapidly from having to stop working after 23 years to the point where she has been confined to an electric wheelchair for the past 6 years. She has a full time aid that comes to the house every day to help her get dressed, bathed and provide her help with life’s simplest chores.
The only way for her to leave the house is by handicapped van, the problem is the van the family currently uses is 17 years old and is in disrepair and extremely costly to repair. Currently the van is unusable due to numerous problems that are just not worth to fix in such an old van. The most important part of the van, the lift, works intermittently and is holding Cathy back from getting out with the family as much as she would like to
Cathy’s friends see the struggle this is causing her and would like to help her purchase an updated or new handicapped van reliable enough for her to not worry about it breaking down every time she wants to go to the grocery store or see her youngest son play in a sporting event.
I have worked with Cathy’s husband Tom for the past 7 years and have heard firsthand the struggles she experiences with these problems on a daily basis. I know what a difference this would make in Cathy as well as the entire family’s lives as it would be one less thing to worry about when helping Cathy live a normal life.
I have seen GoFund ME help a family member in the past and understand the importance of this campaign and the difference it can make in a person’s life.
