Early this morning, tragedy struck a coworker/friend of mine, Cathy Helm, and her family when their home was engulfed in flames. The fire has left them with nothing but the clothes on their backs and a heart-wrenching sense of loss. Cathy and her six kids managed to escape without harm before the fire reached every part of the house. Cathy is a dedicated parent to six beautiful children, the youngest being one-year-old twin girls. The fire has not only taken away their shelter but has left Cathy and her children in shock and desperation. Losing cherished belongings, memories, and basic necessities has been overwhelming. The family now has to tackle the difficult process of starting their lives from scratch. I am reaching out to our community, friends, and compassionate individuals to lend a helping hand.
