On Wednesday November 5th my mother was diagnosed with a massive frontal cortex tumor that was about a third of her brain in size. The following Friday she went into brain surgery that was almost 16 hours in an effort to remove the tumor. The long surgery caused a cascade of events after... her heart stopped, her lungs filled with fluid, she was bleeding and clotting at the same time, her kidneys were weak, and neurologically she was in a semi-comatose state. She will be in the NICU for a decent amount of time as the neurosurgical team tries to help her body to recover but even after discharge it is going to be a long road. My mother is going to need radiation, rehab, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and a home health aid to take care of her while my dad works and I am in school. Our current insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of the surgery along with the other treatments mentioned above which is why my family and I are asking for help.
We greatly appreciate anything that you can give us during this rough time in our lives. Thank you for your compassion and support as we focus on getting my mother back to the strong, selfless woman she has always been. Thank you to everyone for all the prayers that have been sent our way as well. We have received nothing but love and positivity so thank you all. ❤️
