Cathy Chaika... sister, mother, grandma

Cathy A. Chaika, age 62 of St. Cloud, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Cathy hadn't worked in years as she had previously been fighting cancer, seizures, diabetes, and a tumor. In October, Cathy fell causing a brain injury and she had been fighting for months to regain her strength to go back home. Cathy was anticipated to make a full recovery after her most recent injury so when she suddenly passed away, it took us all by shock. Because of this, there are little to no funds to take care of all the arrangements and she had nothing planned for whenever her time came.

Cathy was born on March 13, 1960 in St. Cloud, MN, to Fritz and Alta Chaika. Cathy enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a bartender at the American Legion in Waite Park for many years; following in the footsteps of her parents. Cathy had a hidden artistic talent, she was very creative and often shared her creativity with friends and family.

Those left behind to honor and cherish her life include her children Jamie, Ashley and Eric, as well as her six grandchildren Kenna, Maddie, Arianna, Brady, Jamison, and Alonni. She loved and adored them all dearly. She also loved her cat Gracie who kept her company. She also leaves behind her siblings Linda Sweeter, Ted (Kathy) Hochsprung, and Becky (Mark) Hallerman.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Fritz and Alta Chaika, and her significant other Scott Fisher.

There will be a celebration of life for Cathy Chaika and Scott Fisher (who passed away in October 2022), on Sunday, February 5th, from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at the East side VFW in St. Cloud. All are welcome to come and share your memories of Cathy and Scott.
