Honoring Cathy Armey in support of Olivia

We are organizing this GoFundMe to raise funds to help support Cathy’s granddaughter Olivia, who is now solely responsible for the household costs that she and Cathy shared, as well as funeral costs. Your generosity will give Olivia space to grieve, heal, and get on her feet without the weight of financial strain.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Cathy, affectionately known as “Nana” to so many of us. She was more than a mother and grandmother… She was a constant source of love, strength, and stability to her son Ray, her daughter Liz, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and to her sisters, who faithfully supported her and cared for her throughout her life.

When Cathy’s daughter Liz passed away, she didn’t hesitate to step in and raise her two granddaughters, Mercy and Olivia, as her own. She took on the role of both mother and grandmother, pouring her heart into giving them a home filled with love and care. Her life was a living testimony of selflessness and devotion.

Today, that legacy is seen clearly:

• Ray, Cathy’s son, is married and has been a steady presence and a pillar of support for the family through both joy and hardship.

• Mercy is now married and raising four beautiful children in the way of the Lord, a reflection of the love and guidance Cathy poured into her life.

• And Olivia, who lived with Cathy her whole life, lovingly and faithfully cared for her in her final years, showing extraordinary compassion and strength.

Now, as we grieve Cathy’s passing, Olivia is walking into a new season of life. Alongside the weight of loss, she is also facing the reality of new financial responsibilities. What was once the shared responsibility of a two-person household has now become hers alone, and she is also helping contribute toward funeral expenses with her family.

We want to rally together as a community; the same way Cathy always gave of herself to others, to honor her memory by lifting some of this burden off Olivia’s shoulders.
