On October 2nd, 2020 my beautiful mother Cathryn Williams was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (breast cancer). For those of you that know her, know that she is an incredible person. She is kind, warm-hearted, intelligent, unbelievably strong and always puts her family and friends first.
Since the diagnosis she has met with the oncologist, had the first of many biopsies, blood work, lymph node biopsy, CT scan, bone scan, and then reality finally hit. She underwent surgery on November 10th, 2020 to have a mastectomy and an axillary lymph node dissection, which was successful. My mom will have 6 weeks of recovery before starting chemotherapy treatments followed by weeks of radiation.
Due to her illness, she will be unable to hold her full time position as a caregiver and short term disability unfortunately does not provide full pay. Most of her medical expenses are not going to be covered by insurance and with the everyday necessities of life, money is getting tighter and tighter.
My mom is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love, support or the shirt off her back to anyone that needs it. She has been my greatest influence in life and the motivation I needed to gain my career in the medical field.
At this time I kindly ask to help send back some of that love and support to my mom through this long process. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is most important while she fights to beat this thing. Please spread the word. Every penny and every prayer counts.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
