Catholic Funeral and Burial

Donation protected
My name is Michael Stanco and I have Stage IV terminal rectal cancer. In November of 2013, my doctors told me I have about 3 to 6 months to live. So I have been preparing for my death so that my family is not left with the financial burden of my final expenses.

I am a Roman Catholic, and the beliefs of my church prohibit the scattering of my remains after my cremation. Not only can my ashes not be scattered, they must be put in a final resting place. In addition to the expense of my cremation, I also need to pay for a burial plot. I have found a Catholic cemetery in which my urn will be entombed in a mausoleum, which is the least expensive alternative. I have found that these costs are far more than I anticipated and since I live on my disability pension, I do not have enough money to pay for it all. I fear that I will not be able to cover these expenses prior to my passing and I am now turning to my friends, family and even strangers for their help. I have never been one to reach out and ask for help, but in this time, my final hours, I have realized that God is far more important than my pride.

So to all who read these words, I thank you in advance for any help you can give me. For no matter your religious/non-religious beliefs, I am eternally grateful for you helping me stay true to mine, whether you agree with them or not.

God bless you.

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
