Cathie’s Bionic Hearing Needs New Upgrade

Being born with hearing issues, I have always tried to hear the best that I can.  At age 2 It was discovered I had a no hearing in my right ear. So all my life I was co-dependent on my left ear to hear.  My Bionic Journey started in 2004, when I started to lose my hearing in my only good ear. My left ear.  I started wearing hearing aids while I had my first Cochlear Implant on the right ear which was not successful.  In 2009 when I learned I could only hear 4 out of 100 words with my hearing aids I chose to have my left ear  and implanted,  I am  very thankful it was  successful. 

Bionic processors don't last a life time, Boy do I wish they did. But here it is 5 years later since my last upgrade and it has begun to give out.  I never know when that connection to hearing goes out.  It is just in a moment my hearing is silent  It does come back on but those silent times are getting more common. I need to upgrade my processor.

After I saw my Audiologist in February I learned I did need to upgrade my processor as it is not something they can repair.  The new processor is called the Marvel, as is my cover photo.  So with encouragement from my husband and family, I started the approval process, and was approved  in 5 weeks, with my insurance company.  My share of this upgrade is $5500 (US Funds).
