Catherine (Wonder Woman’s) Celebration of Life
Donation protected
On July 10, I received the news we all dread in our lifetime. My mom passed.
I’ll give the story though for those who are unaware and to answer ahead of the questions of “what happened?” This will hopefully help reduce the influx in questions myself and my family will receive.
A good friend of my mom had reached out from the YMCA (thank you Shirley) concerned that my mom had not been in. Many of you may or may not know the impact she had at the YMCA community and how loved she was. She loved being a part of everything they had to offer. She was there everyday. And she always had the best things to say about all her friends, crafting and working out.
I called my mom to no avail. I received a call back moments later to a detective giving me the news of her passing. I was informed she was on her way to a doctor’s appointment with her friend Henry and was not feeling well as she walked down the stairs.
A few feet from the stairs she collapsed—Henry and a neighbor (Pedro) attempted CPR to the best of their ability. Pedro and Henry stayed with her till EMS arrived. Pedro held her hand the whole time. And I thank him so very much for this. EMS was unable to resuscitate her.
Medical examiners have confirmed it was due to cardiomyopathy. I am unaware if this is something she knew she had prior. And I ask for patience while I do investigate this.
I’ve been searching to see if she has life insurance, to no success. I’m currently awaiting a response from the NAIC to see if there is anything they can locate. In the mean time, I am looking into options for her service.
My Sweet MamaBear always wanted to be cremated, she was a light in this world and will be in the life after. I know she would want us to celebrate her life and not dwell on the sadness of her leaving us. We shall mourn the loss of her, and celebrate who she was at a friend, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a neighbor, my best friend, my Wonder Woman, and a selfless soul.
These contributions will go towards the cost of anything and everything associated with making sure we are able to put her to rest, celebrate her life, and honor her wishes of what she wanted.
The celebration of life is TBD so the date I am listing here is just a rough estimate. DO NOT associate this date with her service date. I will post details of her services once we have everything solidified.
