Catherine's COVID-19 Recovery

Donation protected
My sister Catherine's entire family, despite every effort to stay safe, has been hit by COVID throughout January thru Present. First my brother-in-law Heath and nephew Dylan were infected, and quite ill. Because they were positive, they had to close their small business in Hill City SD that Catherine and Dylan run. Just as they were able to come out of quarantine and re-open the business, Catherine became ill and was diagnosed with COVID. After a few days of mild symptoms, she started feeling much better, and thought she was on the road to recovery. Four days later, she was in the hospital fighting for her life. (Her daughter Hailey became ill with COVID while Catherine was hospitalized, and so far recovering.) She is now home but left with severe pulmonary and cardiac issues necessitating home monitoring with the capability to transmit data to her care providers, and an oxygen concentrator to provide her with oxygen at night, and when she drops too low during the daytime. Her already strained heart struggles even more during these episodes of low oxygen saturation.

Due to diagnostic testing being scheduled out for insurance coverage, she is still without the necessary equipment she needs. The needed equipment will run into the thousands of dollars, on top of insurance deductibles; at this time Catherine is not able to work, and it may be a long time, if ever, before she is able to work again. To make matters worse, Dylan is still not able to keep their business open full time as he developed post-COVID pneumonia, and continues to struggle with his recovery, plus Catherine can't be left home alone for long periods of time. Without the income from the Lynx Den, they are trying to survive on Heath's teaching salary, and they just do not have the funds to purchase the necessary equipment, cover ongoing medical costs, and family/household/ and transportation needs. (Their 2 daughters, Genesis and Hailey also have ongoing medical needs that require monthly trips to Sioux Falls for medical procedures and testing not available to pediatric patients in Rapid City.) It could be weeks of fighting yet with the insurance company, and Catherine has already gone too long without oxygen and monitoring at home.

God bless, and Thank You for any help you can give. It will be greatly appreciated.
