Education has always been more than just a pathway to a career for me; it is my gateway to making a meaningful difference in the world. Attending college has always been a dream of mine, and with your support, I am one step closer to making it a reality.

My name is Catherine Baric, and in the Fall of 2024, I will transfer to Appalachian State University to pursue a degree in Business General Management with a Minor in Philosophy. I am passionate about helping others and believe that with the right education and support, I can transform this passion into impactful action.

As a future member of the Appalachian State Honors College, I find the principles of educational work inspiring and look forward to beginning my thesis with your support. I plan to further my studies through the Honors College, focusing my research on a contemporary topic that explores the evolutionary track of the sexes and the current biological divide between males and females following societal domestication. This raises many intriguing questions and offers valuable applications to our understanding of the natural world. The passion and conviction behind this research aim to foster a deeper connection between humanity and the world around us, leading to advancements in scientific knowledge and ethical practices. With your help, I can pave the path toward a greater understanding as I unravel the hidden complexities of life within our minds.

Beyond academic goals, I am committed to influencing positive change in the lives of those around me and giving back to the community in meaningful ways, both locally and globally. Throughout my life, I have dedicated myself to supporting future generations and hands-on community service. From founding a new college campus club that provides safe spaces and support to those in need to internships with non-profit organizations that hold global impact, I believe that every child and young adult deserves adequate opportunity to succeed and flourish in their lifetime, no matter the circumstances.

My mission is to inspire a butterfly effect of positive change in the lives of those around us. I am committed to these humanitarian changes through unwavering faith, perseverance, and dedication. Your support will not only help me achieve my academic goals but also empower me to make a lasting difference.
