Hi Everyone,

My name is Bentley Da Costa, and I consider it a genuine privilege to be part of Ashley's chosen family...

To know Ashley, is to not only love Ashley, but to know what it's like to be loved by her.

Ashley is truly one of the most selfless, compassionate, and giving humans to have ever walked this Earth. She's the one who will drop everything in a heartbeat to help, whether she knows you or has just met you. Her presence alone puts a pep in your step and a hug on your heart.

She shows up with her whole heart, speaks up with her whole chest; and, goes above and beyond without ever being asked.

The only thing Ashley doesn't do is ask for help.

Our beautiful, generous, proud, stubborn, fiercely independent friend quietly fights her own battles, never one to burden others.

And that is why I'm here, to be her voice, and ask for your help in a time when it matters most.

It is with a heavy heart I share that on September 5th, 2025, Ashley's Mom, Catherine Margaret Grant passed away.

Cathy was a free spirit - vivacious, gregarious, and lived life loud and free. Her heart and her doors were always open to strangers and strays alike; and, she always found and brought together the good ol' times.

The world became a little more dull and a lot less interesting when we lost Mum.

Not only is Ashley left with the heartbreak of losing her Mom, she now has to carry the heavy financial burden of final arrangements on her own, with no help from her given family.

Even though there won't be a formal service, the costs associated with Cathy's passing, cremation and burial - even kept at a respectful bare minimum - are absurd.

So often, when those close to us are in times of crisis and loss, we find ourselves saying, "If there's anything you need...".

This is that time, and as Ashley's chosen family, there is something we can do.

We can show up for Ashley now, like she has shown up for all of us, time and time again.

If you would like to support Ashley during this trying and heavy time, even the smallest of gestures would help her out, and mean so much.

Whether it's equivalent to a cup of coffee, a meal, or simply sharing this fundraiser - every bit counts and will help lighten her load.
