Catherine is a blessing for all her know her. Catherine, “Ngukaa nzukaxkw,” is a Lunáapeew-oxkweew born and raised in Munsee-Delaware Nation. She with the Late Mitchell Jacobs raised their family in Eelūnaapéewi-Lahkéewiit (Delaware Nation), aka Bucktown. As a gramma and retired early learning teacher she spent much of her time spoiling her grandsons and bringing joy to her friends and family, like a true mamma black bear!

In July of 2025, Catherine was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Over the last year she defied the odds and continues to kick cancer 8n the ass! For the past few weeks, that fight has become harder and she’s struggling. Her amazing children, Kristin, Kelly, and Josh are now constantly by her side giving it their all to help their mom.

Due to this new battle they are hurting financially and need help. The medical expenses are putting a strain on the family’s day to day financial responsibilities. So, please help my dear friend, my mama bear and her cubs as they model Lunáapeew resilience, enduring strength and love.
