Catherine Goeller is a wife and mother of three very active boys (11 yrs, 9yrs, 7yrs) and was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Catherine’s husband Jason is active-duty military serving in the Navy and is stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. Catherine’s family recently moved to Nebraska in 2022 after being separated from Jason for 10 months in 2021-2022 due to a military deployment. To support their transient military lifestyle, Catherine has been homeschooling her boys since 2020.
In the fall of 2023, Catherine noticed a lump in her right breast and scheduled a mammogram and ultrasound. The results were not good, indicating a large mass and several enlarged lymph nodes in the area which appeared to be cancerous. This was the start of the long journey of discovery, learning, pain, and sadness where she learned of her specific diagnosis. On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, day before Thanksgiving, Catherine received word that the biopsy results were positive for cancer. Catherine was diagnosed with invasive ductile carcinoma with a 4.5cm tumor in her right breast and at least 10 affected lymph nodes in the surrounding area.
Throughout the month of December, Catherine and her family scrambled for answers and struggled with what the best treatment path should be. No one wants cancer. No one wants to do chemotherapy. This isn’t happening. There has to be a better way.
Catherine had spent most of her adult life eating right, exercising, and avoiding the many toxins that can lead to cancer but nonetheless, it arrived on her doorstep. With a focus on healing the entire body and trying to find the root of the cancer, Catherine and Jason embarked on a quest to learn everything there was to know about oncology and integrative medicine.
Through many long nights and frustrating conversations, Catherine learned there are other options to help cure cancer most of which are not fully accepted in the United States but practiced largely in Canada, Europe, and other developed nations.
Therapies like IV administration of High Dose Vitamin C and mistletoe injections are supportive in fighting cancer and aiding immune system response, but, unfortunately are not recognized by insurance companies in the United States as part of a standard of care for cancer.
Upon receiving her diagnosis, Catherine started receiving High Dose Vitamin C IV and mistletoe injections as well as a diet / nutrition change to support immune boosting. The additional therapies she is receiving as well as host of immune boosting supplements she is taking are not covered under the military insurance health care plan BUT ARE essential to an integrative approach to beating cancer.
As a single income family with only Jason’s active duty pay as well as Catherine acting as the primary educator for the three boys, the integrative therapies and supplements have started to cause the bills to pile up. Each High Dose Vitamin C injection is $200 and is being administered twice a week and a five weeksupply of mistletoe injections is $750. The monthly costs for these two integrative approach therapies is $3,500, with other supportive therapies and treatments also costing a significant amount.
During the six to nine months of cancer treatment that lies ahead, the total costs not covered by the military health care system will total $31,500. Any donation will help Catherine’s family offset the integrative therapy costs, and provide Catherine a more comprehensive, and overall curative, treatment of her cancer.
Thank you for your time and donations.
